Nuevo Energy Co. (1221 Lamar, Houston, TX 77010; Tel: 713/652-0706) continued its successful horizontal drilling program onshore California with the recent completion of two wells that set production rate records for the company. The Hopkins 21-H and Hopkins 22-H wells, located at Nuevo's Belridge Field (WI 100%) in Kern Co., are currently producing 1,363 bbl of oil per day (B/D) combined. The Hopkins 21-H well is producing 822 B/D and the Hopkins 22-H is producing 541 B/D.
