GRAND PRIZE WINNERS IN THE "NATION OF Readers" national photography contest sponsored by the American Library Association were announced July 6 by President E.J. Josey.
The judges selected 13 winners from more than 1,200 entries in 49 states. Submissions came from the 606 local libraries sponsoring the contests during National Library Week (Jan., p. 58). Judges were nationally known photographers Victor Skrebneski and Archie Lieberman, both of Chicago, and Doris Kinney, reporter of Life magazine in New York.
Prizes awarded were $1,000 for first place, $500 for second, $250 for third, and a $100 President's Prize.
