NEW YORK - The Fisher Camuto Group, marketer of 9 West and three other brands of moderately priced women's footwear from Brazil, has hired Gil Fields, former president and chief executive officer of Marx & Newman, to head up a new venture to source better-grade women's shoes out of Italy.

Enzo Angiolini, designer of Marx & Newman's Bandolino line, also has left the branded Italian import division of U.S. Shoe corp., cincinnati, to join Fisher Camuto. The Designer, who worked at Marx & Newman for four years, will build the new Fisher Camuto line that will carry his name, Enzo.

The Stamford, Conn.-based import company disclosed the development to its staff before last week's National Shoe Fair in Chicago, and word of the move spread quickly through the show, with widely circulated reports placing Fields' total compensation at Fisher Camuto at about $750,000 a year plus 30 per cent interest in the …
