A BY-ELECTION notice for a Swansea ward has been issued following the death of a councillor.

Former Lord Mayor Dennis James died last month. He was a Llansamlet councillor who had sat on the old city council and the unitary authority.

The Llansamlet ward is represented by four councillors.

Mr James was a member alongside Penny Matthews, Uta Clay and Ryland Doyle.
