Chicken Mandarin

1/2 clove garlic, chopped

1/2 cup sliced celery

4 tablespoons oil

4 to 5 tablespoons flour

2 cups chicken stock or bouillon

1/2 cup pimientos, cut up

1/4 cup almond slivers (optional)

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1/2 to 1 cup water chestnuts

2 cups chicken, cooked, diced

1 teaspoon salt

Saute garlic and celery in oil until tender. Add flour, stir well. Gradually stir in stock or bouillon and soy sauce. ADD CHESTNUTS, chicken, pimiento, salt and almonds. Heat thoroughly. Chicken Surprise
