Diamond Patterned Pullover

Garter stitch collar and cuffs complete this openwork diamond patterned pullover. The collar is worked in two parts, each with the fronts. Work the right side and collar first. To work the collar with the left side, cast on the collar stitches.

The yarn over is basic in pointelle patterns. If the yarn over is not placed around the needle in the correct direction, the hole you are trying to create may be eliminated.

Slip stiches, unless otherwise specified, are slipped as if to purl. In this pattern, on the odd (wrong side) rows, the yarn is also brought forward as if to purl. Be sure to check notes on yarn overs and slip stitches.

The model was made with 4 (5, 5) skeins Nantuk 4 ply worsted weight yarn available in 4 ounce skeins (280 yards per skein) and number 9 (or size required for gauge) standard knitting needles. Directions are given for small with changes in parentheses for medium and large. Finished bust measurement is approximately 33-1/2 (35-1/2, 37-1/2) inches.

Gauge: 4 sts equal 1 inch 6 rows equal 1 inch TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

Note: When working slip stitches on odd rows, bring yarn to front and slip as if to purl.
