AN elderly man with Alzheimer's who triggered a frantic search when he left his house wearing only his pyjamas has now moved into a residential care home.

The family of the 81-year-old man, who wish to remain anonymous, have thanked the emergency services and health workers who searched for him and cared for him after he was found.

"We would like to thank everyone involved for the help and support we had and for putting into place a tremendous action plan," said one of the man's sons.

"Everything came together and everything had a positive outcome."
