Love is a very difficult word to define. Physically, love is a chemical reaction we experience in our brain, likewise with any other emotion. Yet love is much more than that.
Love is a unique emotion. All emotions like sadness or anger are experienced individually. Love however is an extroverted feeling. I believe it is an expression of the human trying to connect with the exterior world. It's like being freed from the confines of one's mind.
There are many types or levels of love. It evolves from the family, then to friendship, and then towards the people who are special in one's life. The evolution of love does not end there. The levels of love above marriage are a little harder to perceive; they must be learned. This is where religion plays a key role in all societies.
No matter how different the world's religions are, they all teach only one lesson: How to love God. And what is God? This is another difficult word to define. It is no coincidence that both love and God are hard concepts to understand. They are the same.
