Instead of bringing in eight new players like they did last summer on the first day of free agency the Panthers first move was bringing back one of their own in goaltender Scott Clemmensen.
Clemmensen, who turns 35 later this month, is coming off his third and best season with the Panthers in which he notched a 14-6-6 mark with a 2.57 goals-against-average and .913 save percentage. He was 1-2 in the playoff series against the Devils with a 2.35 GAA.
Clemmensen earned $1.5 million last season. Details on his new deal haven't been released.
