The number of profitable banks in Azerbaijan amounted to 36 in April 2012, which is by 4 units more compared to April 2011, the Azerbaijani Central Bank said on Friday.

Total revenue of the banking sector amounted to 82.18 million manat in April, which is by 66.66 percent more compared to March 2012, and by 74.4 percent compared to April 2011.

The number of unprofitable banks compared to March 2012 didn't change, and dropped by four compared to April 2011. As a result a loss of 8 banks amounted to 68.58 million manat, which is over 5 times higher …
