June 12--An Erie County judge won't throw out the first-degree murder conviction for an Erie woman found guilty of starving to death her 14-month-old daughter. Judge Shad Connelly said the prosecution presented enough evidence to support the jury's finding that 21-year-old Tania Coleman deliberately killed her daughter, Alayja, in the spring of 2011. Evidence at trial in March showed Alayja starved to death while in her mother's care and that Coleman did not seek medical help for her daughter, Connelly said.
