June 12--Linton golfer Clayton French can't say what will be on his mind when he approaches the first tee at Legends Golf Club in today's opening round of the boys' state championship in Franklin. But French knows what he won't be thinking about. He won't be worried about medaling or his competition. Nor will he get caught up in the pageantry of playing on the big stage. That's because French's season goal was to advance this far. Now that he's here and the pressure is gone, it's all about playing the game, just him and the ball. "I've talked to a lot of people, and obviously it's a pressure situation being in the state final," French said. …
