June 12--FORT WAYNE -- South's Hannah Acton reset her school pole vault record by reaching 12-9, good for third place at the Midwest Meet of Champions on Saturday at Fort Wayne Northrop. The event brings together the top senior athletes from Indiana, Ohio and Michigan in post-state meet competition. Acton was one of three girls to reach that height, but fell to third on a higher number of attempts. Her previous best had been 12-4.
