Family, friends and a host of former colleagues and fellows from the worlds of journalism and politics arrived to send off the former president and general director of the Athens News Agency (renamed AMNA) Andreas Christodoulides on Thursday, accompanying him to his final resting place at the Kesariani cemetery in east Athens.

Hundreds of mourners, with flowers and wreaths, paid homage to the journalist who was at the helm of Greece's semi-official news agency for 17 years.

Christodoulides was a founding member of the PASOK party. He worked against the military junta ruling Greece between 1967 and 1974 and resisted the coup …
