June 08--The Shareholder Spring extended into the summer months as the pay of three FTSE 100 chief executives came under scrutiny yesterday.

Private security giant G4S witnessed a massive shareholder revolt at its annual ballot, as two of Britain's biggest grocers revealed multi-million pound rewards for their top bosses.

Security chief Nick Buckles, whose firm botched a pounds sterling 5.2bn takeover of Danish rival ISS last year, is in line for a pounds sterling 5.3m pay package.

But some 36.5pc of shareholders abstained from the ballot at a protest-riddled annual meeting yesterday.
