May 31--PLATTEVILLE -- Carl Appie wasn't too surprised when the Colorado State Patrol pulled over his work truck on Colo. 66 about one mile west of U.S. 85 on Thursday. "I was just a bit confused because this usually happens on Wednesdays and usually on 119 going into Longmont," said Appie, who drives truck for Piedmont Plastics, Inc. "But it's no problem. You gotta keep'em safe. It is taking a little longer than normal, though." Appie, who thought he was being pulled over for a routine paperwork check, was actually one of several hundred commercial vehicles that were stopped across Weld County Wednesday, Thursday and today as part of an annual …
