KUALA LUMPUR: Thirty-one companies have been pre-qualified to tender for five systems works packages valued at RM791 million for the country's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) rail project.
The tenders for the project, linking Sungai Buloh and Kajang, opened last week and will close in July and August.
They include the alignment's telecommunication system as well as the automated fare collection (AFC) system.
The 31 local and international companies were selected from a pool of 76 firms.
They include names like Siemens Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Alcatel-Lucent Malaysia Sdn Bhd, CMCE-Thales consortium and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd.
