C&IT's State of the Industry survey reveals the major worry for both corporate and agency event planners is, not surprisingly, budgets.

With the UK economy officially in double-dip recession, it's no surprise that budget constraints are the single biggest challenge facing UK event planners in 2012 and beyond.

C&IT's annual State of the Industry report consulted more than 200 corporate and agency event planners and around a third (34%) of agency planners and similarly 34% of corporates said that budgets were their main challenge.

Dani Davies, promotions manager at office solutions supplier Danwood, says: 'Our key challenge is budget. I don't think anything else competes with that. It's trying to find the balance between still being able to reward people while keeping a tight hold on the purse strings.'
