Summer Bridge is a Central Arizona College program funded by a five-year, $2.7 million Title V Grant from the U.S Department of Education and designed to help students escape the islands of anxiety that come with starting college. Central Arizona College received the grant in October 2011 after completing a competitive application process and demonstrating the success of its previous two Title V grants. The previous Title V grants jointly funded Summer Bridge at the Signal Peak Campus that helped more than 300 students over the last 10 years begin transitioning into college before the start of classes. The latest grant expected to benefit about 3,000 students during its five-year term. …
