As well as GBP10,000 she immediately returned, Evans was ordered to pay the club a further GBP27,000 in compensation, which was worked out as the combined value of her equity in a house in Bristol and her Daewoo car. Evans was not working due to depression following her release from prison, and when her home and vehicle only brought her GBP9,000 she was left with an GBP18,000 shortfall, the court heard.
