A STATUE of Queen Victoria was dressed up in a tinsel necklace and red lipstick.

The vandalism happened overnight and is believed to be the work of drunken revellers.

But Pearson Park users were not amused by the defacement on the statue, dubbing it "selfish" and "antisocial".

The statue was dressed up with pink tinsel around its neck, a red T-shirt with a peace symbol on it, red lipstick and a bandana.
