Niksic - Montenegro's second largest town, Niksic, has been known for years as a transit centre for the smuggling of all sorts of narcotics that largely end up on the markets in the region and in Western Europe.

The municipality with the largest area (2,065 square kilometres), stretching from Bogetic in the south to Vracenovici and Ilino Brdo in the west (border belt with the Serb Republic [in Bosnia-Hercegovina]), has become fertile ground for smugglers, who brave inaccessible terrain from the mountain …
