In a news report on 30 March, Russian Defence Ministry-controlled Zvezda TV showed what it said was the first exercise this year by the Airborne Troops in Ulyanovsk Region, during which personnel and materiel were parachuted. New "know-how" in service was tested. It was correspondent Aleksey Koshkin's report.

The exercise scenario was that a "critical facility" was targeted by "unlawful combatants". The role of the Andromeda automated command and control system at the "brigade-to-battalion" level was highlighted.
