BUSINESS VENTURES related to agriculture should be encouraged in order to spur economic growth, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) said on Tuesday.
Louie U. Kaw, chairman of the PCCI-Youth committee said the agriculture sector should be developed since it remains to be one of the country's competitive advantages.
"We are very lucky because we have abundant natural resources. Instead of venturing into businesses that may be capital-intensive, we believe we should take advantage of our natural resources to develop more agriculture- related business ventures," Mr. Kaw told reporters.
Aside from ensuring the country's food supply, developing the agriculture sector will help create more jobs, Mr. Kaw said. …
