CHONG Wei Feng and Chan Kwong Beng did no favours to their chances of making it to the Thomas Cup squad when they crashed out in the second round of the German Open in Mulheim yesterday.

Wei Feng, who gave himself some hope after winning the Selangor Open on Sunday, suffered a 21-13, 21-14 defeat to Ashton Chen of Singapore.

Kwong Beng also fared poorly when he lost 21-15, 21-15 to Christan Lin Thomsen of Denmark.
