SUPERSTAR Scot Gerard Butler is being lined up for a mini-series version of Braveheart.

Butler, 42, heads a STV wishlist to star in turn the 1995 Mel Gibson film into a TV show.

The broadcaster is developing a GBP13million drama based on the life of William Wallace. The company is working with LA-based Creative Media and Nine/8 Entertainment and Scot Mick Davis, who is writing the script.

Called Wallace, the series will look to match the success of Spartacus and Game Of Thrones and will depict the freedom fighter's story, such as his battles with King Edward I of England and his relationship …
