An eco housing exhibition in Inverness is at the centre of further controversy after it emerged the Scottish Government is to repay the majority of a GBP5.4million loan guarantee taken out to build the homes.

Scotland's Housing Expo showcased the best innovative and sustainable designs at Balvonie Braes in 2010, with 52 houses on display.

Despite attracting more than 30,000 visitors, the event made a loss of several thousands pounds.

And while the affordable properties are all occupied, the more expensive buildings have taken longer to sell.
