'Vow' wows on V-day: weeper collects $11.6 million Tuesday.

Valentine's Day audiences flocked to Sony-Screen Gems' "The Vow," shelling out $11.6 million--a record-breaking midweek take for the holiday.

"The Vow" handily beat the previous best non-weekend performer on Valentine's Day: 2005's "Hitch," which grossed $7.5 million.

In a boffo run-up to the holiday, the Channing Tatum-Rachel McAdams weeper grossed a chart-topping $41.2 million in three days, attracting a dominant share of female moviegoers. Domestic cume was $56.1 million in five days.

Fox's "This Means War," which retrenched to Friday after a previously scheduled Valentine's Day bow, earned a reported $1.7 million from approximately 2,500 sneaks on …
