Ryan Jarvis believes he can boost both Torquay United's promotion hopes and his own career, after joining the Gulls for the rest of the season.

Jarvis, 25, who has signed for United on loan from npower League One side Walsall, goes into the squad for tomorrow's key game away to Torquay's League Two promotion rivals, Crawley Town. "I see it as a great opportunity," the former Norwich City and Leyton Orient forward said. "Hopefully, I can add a bit to push the team even higher up the table.

"I wasn't playing enough at Walsall, and I need to push on and make something of these three months."
