$500-million global peso notes mulled.

THE GOVERNMENT is considering issuance of at least $500 million worth of global peso notes this year, a cabinet official said on Tuesday.

"We are considering another round of global peso notes as part of our efforts to continue to improve our debt structure," Finance Secretary Cesar V. Purisima told reporters.

"We are still studying the market conditions, but we are looking at an issuance this 2012."

While the benchmark amount for the issuance is $500 million, Mr. Purisima said this could yet increase.
