Feb. 29--Ford is steering customers toward money and energy savings this winter by busting some car care myths. As February ends, the company hopes to provide information that lets owners build a relationship with their vehicle that will last all year long.

Opting for synthetic oil can stretch the miles between oil changes, according to Johnny Ringold, general sales manager for Benna Ford in Superior.

"Synthetic oil works for everything," he said, and can mean fewer visits to the mechanic. Instead of the typical oil change at 3,000 miles, synthetic oils need to be changed out every 5,000-7,500 miles in older vehicles. In a new Ford, …
