Deputy Prime Minister Katsuya Okada has suggested the Democratic Party of Japan would not rule out withdrawing a proposal to create a minimum guaranteed pension after negotiations with opposition parties begin.
Okada's remark apparently meant to show the party's flexibility on the issue prior to realizing talks between the ruling and opposition camps over the integrated reforms on the social security and tax systems, including the planned consumption tax hike.
