As the Czech Government has decided that it will not give up the fighter-jet air force, in essence it had no other option than to start negotiations with Sweden on the continuation of the lease of 14 Jas-39 Gripen fighter-jets. The statement of Prime Minister Necas that this only means a deferral of the decision on which fighter-jets to acquire in connection with an improvement of the economic situation is political equivocation.
