A court in the south of Tajikistan has banned selling of religious books received from Iran, the privately-owned Tajik news agency Asia-Plus website reported on 8 February.

It said a batch of banned religious books had been sent from Iran to a local bookseller in the town of Kulob.

"The Kulob town court has banned the sale of five kinds of religious literature which arrived in the town in a parcel from Iran," the report said.
