Trapped fisherman drowns.

ALOR STAR: A 58-year-old fisherman drowned while 19 others were rescued when a deep-sea fishing boat capsized 20 nautical miles off the Kuala Kedah waters, near here, early yesterday.

Ahmad Radzi Ghazali from Taman Razawali in Jalan Langgar here, drowned when he was trapped below the deck of the boat, which had capsized about 2am.

One of the survivors, and the boat's captain, Mohd Ismail Hashim, 55, said the vessel was pounded by strong waves before it capsized and sank.

"We were returning to the fish-landing bay in Kuala Kedah with about seven tonnes of catch when our vessel met with choppy waters.
