The parents of a student who was shot during a scuffle between police and residents in Budaka District want the policeman arrested and prosecuted since the incident left their daughter bed-ridden.
Cissy Mukasa, a student of Rainbow College, is nursing injuries at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital after sustaining injuries in the back, stomach and hand. Two other people, Patricia Logose and Mary Sabono were injured during the incident.
The scuffle reportedly started when the police fired bullets in an attempt to disperse residents, who wanted to lynch a man suspected to have killed a boda boda cyclist in Butaleja last week.
