Herdsmen Occupy Oil Site in Hoima.

A group of an unidentified pastoralists have occupied an oil site in Hoima District, local authorities have said. The nomadic herdsmen have pitch-camped at Waraga-1 oil well in Toonya Village in Buseruka Sub-county.

The Toonya Parish chairperson, Mr Dan Isingoma, said the pastoralists settled in the area about three weeks ago. "They are grazing cows and have set up temporary huts near the oil wells," Mr Isingoma told this newspaper on Monday.
