Apac, Kole Prisons Lack Space.

Prison authorities in Apac and Kole have been left puzzled following the escalating cases of land conflicts in the two districts.

With more than 250 inmates already locked away over land-related cases, the question of how to accommodate inmates in the small prison cells, many built during the colonial times, is worrying.

The regional prisons commander for Lango, Mr Elliot Okello, said they were still keeping hundreds of prisoners in the small prison rooms as government plans to renovate them to accommodate bigger numbers.
