31 January 2012 - German Boehringer Ingelheim and US Eli Lilly (NYSE:LLY) said on Monday the US drug regulator FDA had cleared Jentadueto (linagliptin/metformin hydrochloride), a new single tablet, taken twice daily, to reduce blood sugar in adults with Type 2 diabetes.

The new tablet combines the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, linagliptin, the active ingredient in Tradjenta tablets which are already marketed in the US, and metformin, a commonly used antihyperglycemic drug that …
