From 1 January all operations on sale and purchase of apartments and registration of complimentary houses in Asgabat are suspended. Notary public offices which used to deal with the paperwork and took 10 per cent of the cost of houses as payment for their services do not accept the documents.

The issue is that an evaluation commission which is formally non-governmental organization has been established. Now, no property deal will be done without a decision of this organization.
