RETIRED judge Beatrice Bolton has been ordered to keep her "dangerous" pet dog on a lead for the next five years.

The former Newcastle Crown Court judge was handed the civil order after her German shepherd, Georgina, bit a man as he walked near her Northumberland home.

Ms Bolton, of Rothbury, hit the headlines in 2010 when she stormed out of a court following her conviction for failing to control her dog after it bit her 20-year-old neighbour, Frederick Becker, who was sunbathing in his garden next door.
