In an effort aimed at demonstrating that surveillance systems, detection technologies and communications systems can be integrated for counter-terrorist applications to public transit, the Canadian government is sponsoring a pilot project with Mobile Detect, Inc. (MDI) and Cubic Corp. [CUB] that applies radiological and explosives detection sensors and central security system at a light rail station in Edmonton.
Canada's MDI is the lead industry partner on the pilot with Cubic's Cubic Security Systems subsidiary as the main subcontractor.
MDI, which makes networked mobile and static radiation detectors, is supplying its RadWatch gamma radiological detection sensors that will be integrated into the ticket vending machines at Churchill …
