The Delta State Government has denied that the two blasts, through Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) near a mosque at Sapele, were revenge attacks on the Muslim community.

Dismissing the reports as "mischievous tales," a statement by Information Commissioner Chike C. Ogeah, said: "Although the explosions around the Sapele Mosque occurred within a few days of each other, they were not perpetrated by any group targeting the Muslim community in Delta State.
