A DECISION on Aberdeen's GBP400 million bypass was branded 'tainted' by lawyers arguing for the plans to be scrapped.

But they were warned by a judge not to get bogged down in 'semantics' after lengthy arguments about a 'pivotal' announcement on the exact route of the road.

Stuart Gale QC told the third day of a Court of Session appeal of the announcement by then-Transport Minister Tavish Scott on December 1, 2005, of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.
