LISLE Marsden Primary School has become one of the first primary schools in North East Lincolnshire to open as an academy. The Lansdowne Road school, which is also federated with St Mary's Catholic Primary School, officially became an academy on November 1, and will now be known as the Lisle Marsden Church of England Primary Academy.
Cleethorpes' Signhills Academy, which converted in August, is the only other primary school currently open as an academy in North East Lincolnshire.
It certainly is an interesting time in education at the moment.
Executive headteacher Greg Marsden said: "The conS version of the area's primary schools to academies is one of the biggest issues locally and there are going to be a lot of local schools that change status shortly.
