President Museveni has vowed to fight NRM members whom he said are bent on "witch-hunting" Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi.

A section of the ruling NRM members have joined the opposition and civil society to demand that Mr Mbabazi, one of three Cabinet ministers named in allegations of bribery in the oil sector, steps aside to allow investigations by an ad hoc committee of Parliament.

But Mr Museveni, who was speaking at the commissioning a 6.5 megawatts Ishasha hydro-power dam in Kanungu District yesterday, said Mr Mbabazi was being witchhunted because of his discipline and loyalty to the NRM cause.
