Researchers have developed a device to help detect counterfeit whisky - without having to open the bottle.
The team from the University of Leicester's Space Research Centre have created the handheld gadget that can detect fake whisky through the bottle by using technology originally developed for space telescopes.
They hope it could help save the whisky industry some of the GBP500 million a year it loses to fake products.
