It was very easy and all too convenient to offload the euro crisis first onto Greece's frail shoulders - the perfect culprit with its doctored accounts, sky-high deficit and debt, widespread tax evasion, and more or less non-existent state - and then onto the broad shoulders of Italy, the area's third-largest economy, wanting more in terms of structural reforms than of financial discipline.
