SHIZUOKA

SHIZUOKA--About 150 mothers and fathers were seated behind their offspring as Katsunori Nakanishi, president of the Shizuoka Bank group, addressed 219 new employees during a welcoming ceremony on April 1. "I'd like to congratulate all of you and your family members," he said.

The parents' attendance at the ceremony, as well as Nakanishi's congratulatory message to them, comes at a time when colleges and universities are beginning to address concerns held by parents about their offspring's job-hunting activities.
