Parliament has asked Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi to interdict all government officials named in the abuse of funds meant for the procurement of 70,000 bicycles for local councils.

While debating the procurement yesterday, the committee of Public Service and Local Government on the investigation, said government should act in manner that exhibits its desire to fight corruption and ensure that culprits are brought to book and refund the money.

Top on the list is Permanent Secretary Ministry of Local Government John Kashaka Muhanguzi and all his officers who handled the procurement losing at least $1.7 million (about …
